  • Micro-star International MS-7135 motherboard
  • AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3000+, 64-bit, 1810MHz, 128KB L1, 128K L2
  • 1.5GB DDR-2 RAM
  • 4 x WDC WD3201ABYS-0 SATA HDD (298GB)
  • 1 x WDC WD4000KD-00N SATA HDD (372GB) (Backup SATA disk)
  • On-board SATA controller + 3 x SiI 3114 [SATALink/SATARaid] controllers

Disk setup: One of the four primary disks is on the on-board SATA controller, the other three are each on their own PCI plug-in Silicon-Image SATA cards. We're not using the on-board RAID functionality of the cards - rather voting for more control in software RAID. Each of these disks are setup with a 10GB root partition (RAID-1 mirrored across all 4 disks), a 1GB swap partition (which is not in use), and the rest of the disk setup as RAID auto-detect. Both sets of 2 disks' partitions are RAID-1 (mirrored) across each other, and these two arrays are RAID-1 (split), providing 575.64GB as an LVM physical volume, which, via lvm logical volumes, are split up across all the mounted partitions (with, at the time of this writing, still leaving us with 355.64GB free).
